Near Fine, rubs to calf at spine of Vol. I, light edge wear, contemporary gift inscriptions at front end pages. A contemporary calling card for "Mifs Stillingfleet" laid in. SCARCE in true 1868 First Edition. Last copy sold at auction 1979 (RareBookHub) "Decidedly 'Blindpits' ia not a commonplace novel. Not only does its writer exhibit delicacy as well as power, but the story is characterized by tenderness and pathos, and enlivened by the perhaps rarer quality of humour." ("A Critical Dictionary of English Literature: And British and American Authors", Allibone, Vol. V., p. 1419). First Edition. Half Calf. Good/No Jacket, As Issued. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.
