New York: Harper & Bros, 1954. Very good+ (edgewear, dusty page edges) in edgeworn dust jacket with tape repairs inside at the top and bottom of the spine and folds. Book states "First Edition" on copyright page, but the jacket must belong to a later edition since it refers to Wright's death in 1960. Book grew out of Wright's experiences in Gold Coast before its independence in 1957 as Ghanah. Frontispiece of Kwame Nkrumah, the first prime minister after independence. 358 pages including index.. 1st Edition. Hard Cover.
