Orig. published by Harper & Brothers in 1928, this is the First Edition from the Literary Guild (First, thus), with the stunning Deco-style duotone illustrations of Mahlon Blaine gracing both front & rear board, endpapers, & throughout the text. Hardcover book in black matte cloth-wrapped spine with decorative paper to front & rear boars, paper title box to spine. Condition is VG-: very clean, pages creamy white with moderate tanning, heaviest around edges. Binding strong & straight, hinges intact. Moderate rubbing to extremities, bumped corners.
