Gray cloth binding with titling in red on the spine and front cover. Clean text; 312 pages. Very lightly rubbed at the margins. The dustjacket is complete, unclipped, with Charlie's letter on the back panel. Covers darkened but still clear and striking. Edgewear, with small chips along the margins. A very respectable copy; in an archival plastic protector.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good (Minus). 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

Synopsis

This book is a murder mystery set in Honolulu. Shelah Fane, the Hollywood star, has come to Hawaii to finish the filming of her latest movie. When she is stabbed to death in her beach house, Charlie Chan is called in to investigate. His movie-struck children are thrilled. Other characters include Shelah's wealthy suitor, her young protegee, a Hollywood fortune-teller, a young man from the Tourist Bureau, a beachcomber and an assortment of actors.
