About This Item
Grosset & Dunlap, 1929 Book. Very Good. Hardcover. Early reprint. Red cloth with black lettering and ruling on the front board and spine. Light soiling, two small stains on the fore edge, pages browning, previous owner's tasteful bookplate on the front endpaper, "1946" penned on the rear paste down. The dust jacket is missing all but 4-5 inches of the spine- only the author's name remaining, several small chips and rubbing along the edges/corners. Notably the front and back panels are, in the main, complete and the striking front panel illustration depicts a green skeleton arm and hand holding a red bishop chess piece over three blue sheets with nursery rhyme clues on them. The jacket is scarce and now in protective Brodart sleeve..
