[From back cover] The 'Year and a Day' that is often referred to in folk and fairy tales represents the ancient Celtic tree calendar, the Beth-Luis-Nion as it was called. It consisted of thirteen lunar months and one day. Long before the existence of the Roman calendar of today, the Celts used this calendar which was based on their magic and myths. Each month had its own tree - Beth was the month of the birch tree, Luis the month of the rowan, Nion the month of the ash, and so forth. This calendar of tree magic was part of the religious system of the Celts and has been passed down in an oral tradition which spans three thousand years. In this beautifully illustrated book you will be brought into the druidic world of gods and myths, of birds, colours, moods and trees associated with your birth sign.
