Minor folding to crown and foot, corners of boards lightly bumped. Illustrated dust jacket, price clipped; several small tears to crown, foot slightly creased. Some light sunning to edges of jacket, corners lightly rubbed at hinges. Illustrated colour frontis with tissue guard, 55 further colour plates. Lower edge of textblock show small soil mark; interior otherwise clean and bright. very good Extensively illustrated guide to the birds of South Africa, with species names in Latin, English, Afrikaans and Bantu (when known). The revised third impression with a foreward by General J.C. Smuts. Still an authority. 1942
