HATFIELD BOOKS AND MEMORABILIA, a FIVE STAR SELLER, presents BIRDS OF NORTH AMERICA, 64 gorgeous, full color, full page plates and 2 black and white plates in a 144 page book. Eliot Porter was a world famous 20th Century photographer, and in this beautiful "coffee table" book he has meticulously rendered the color plates via the "dye transfer" process. Porter also explains in careful prose his process, his career, and his favorite birds. 10 3/4" x 12 1/4" (oversized, may require additional postage), 144 pages including index, with complete original dust jacket. Overall book is NEAR FINE. Pages are Near Fine: end papers have considerable foxing, rest of pages are white, clear, tight, sharp, with no marks. Cover (forest green cloth boards with gold gilt particulars on spine) = Fine: sunning to very top edge of front, else tight, sharp, square, bright, little evidence of any wear. Unclipped dust jacket (glossy action color plate of mother bird feeding her young front, full page b & w photo of Eliot Porter back, with particulars in white) = Near Fine: a hint of wear to top edge, minor foxing and tanning to reverse, else As New color and clarity with no chipping or tearing.
