London: Faber and Faber Limited, 1955. Very Good+ condition in a Very Good dust jacket. A square, tight copy. Sharp corners. Bound in the original red cloth which under the jacket is faded as usual, but only mildly so. Blue lettering on the spine remains bright. The jacket has light rubbing at the extremities, but is still quite shiny. NOT price clipped (18s net). Pages are clean. No underlining. No highlighting. No margin notes. Illustrated with over 60 photographs by Eric Hosking. Based on a 5-year study. Contains 13 chapters describing the aggressive behavior and aerial combat of the Willow-Warbler, Nightingale, Robin, Chat, Pipit, Cuckoo, Ringer Plover, Oystercatcher, Sandpiper, Snipe, Stone-Curlew, Redshank, Wheatear, Avocet, Stuffed Jay, etc. Bibliography.
