Octavo (8 1/2' x 5 3/4") bound in original publisher's black cloth with gilt lettering to spine and blind-stamped pictorial to cover in original pictorial jacket. First edition. A detailed and lucid account of the history of zoological studies, from Aristotle to Jane Goodall and from Pliny to Watson and Crick. Condition: Corners lightly bumped. Jacket corners chipped, creased and chipped along front heal, spine extremities chipped else very good in like jacket.
