London: Country Life Ltd. Signed limited edition, signed by author and illustrator. 147 pages, 20 b/w illustrations, 2 colour plates plus colour frontispiece. Quarter-bound in green cloths with gilt title to spine and gilt top edge to pages. A book that takes a look at birds and how they integrate with the world around them, and at the same giving detailed description of the bird. Cover with some foxing and light edge-wear else in good condition. Endpapers, prelims and outer page edges affected by foxing. Very occasional foxing to page margins, but text and illustrations not affected and in good condition. Fore-edge and bottom edge untrimmed. Dustjacket with some foxing, shelf-worn with chipped edges, tears, head of spine missing; still holding as one piece with two tape repairs.
