First Edition. Limited to 1000 numbered copies copies. [Two copies available, numbers 580 and 787]. A fully descriptive, well illustrated bibliography of Jenner's first and subsequent editions in Britain, America, France, and Germany. Gives details of collation, content, plates, and often useful notes on watermarks, printers, etc. Locates copies. Features an abundance of biographical data and quotations from relevant letters that are not in the 1985 second edition. This edition has 28 facsimiles of titlepages and letters, 17 more than in the new edition. It is also 49 pages longer. Bound in the original black cloth, stamped in bright gold on the spine. Complete with the publisher's pristine clear plastic dust jacket, and Near Fine original cardboard shipping carton.. First Edition limited to 1000 copies. Hardcover.
