Fine binding signed Bickers & Son of polished blue calf, the back with ornate floral gilt tooled decorations and gilt lettering on red morocco label, matching marbled end pages and page edges, xx, 475 pages frontispiece (portrait) . Near Fine, light rubbing to edges, light toning to end pages. The bookplates at front paste down of Edward Robeson Taylor, lawyer, poet, and 28th Mayor of San Francisco and his son Edward DeWitt Taylor, noted California artist and printer. Signature of Mayor Taylor in pencil dated 1881 top edge front end page. A quite handsome finely bound copy of this SCARCE edition. . First Nimmo Edition . Full Calf. Near Fine/No Jacket, As Issued. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
