About This Item
Philadelphia: J.B. Lippincott, 1898. Later printing. Hardcover. Fair/Lacking. 303 p. 19 cm. Publisher's cloth over boards, gilt lettering and brown decorations to spine and front cover. Book Condition: Fair. Interior joint cracked with mull visible, several of the pages have closed tears, covers show wear, staining and bubbled cloth in places. Several of the stories feature animals as walking talking characters as evidenced by the charming illustrations. Our copy states 1898 printing date on title page and copyright date of 1892 on the obverse. Worldcat lists the copyright date as 1882 which we think is wrong.
