About This Item
London: Hodder and Stoughton, 1960. First edition, first printing. Published by Hodder and Stoughton in London, 1960. This is a very good (or better) copy. The dust wrapper, illustrated by Leslie Stead, has some handling marks throughout. There are slight areas of rubbing present. It has not been price clipped, showing the original 8s 6d net price. The boards are free from notable chips and marks and the text blocks are immaculate throughout. This copy is free from inscriptions and is, overall, in very good (or better) condition. Air Commodore Raymond asks Biggles to return to Garhwal in North East India, a place Biggles knows well, as he was born and spent the first 12 years of his life there. The assignment is to rescue a Chinese gentleman called Poo Tah Ling. He is currently hiding from the Chinese army at the Ruby mine of a Captain John Toxan.
