The dust wrapper, designed by Leslie Stead, is blemished at the edges and bumped at the corners and spine tips. There are some handling marks. It has not been price clipped, showing the original 8s 6d net price. The boards, in the original publisher's cloth are free from chips and marks. The text blocks are bright, but marked in places. It is free from previous owners ink. Overall, this is a very good copy. Biggles is visited by an old friend, Squadron Leader 'Dizzy' Digswell, who has an interesting tale to tell. After being forced to parachute out of his plane flying over the Aden Protectorate in Arabia, he thinks he has come across the ancient ruins of the city of Ophir.

A lovely fine copy, the binding square and firm, the contents clean throughout and without previous owner's inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the very lightly rubbed dustwrapper that is a little creased at the bottom of the rear panel but remains without fading, loss or tears. Not price-clipped (8s 6d net to the front flap).
