(known to the R.F.C. as 'Biggles'), and his friend the Hon. Algernon Lacey, R.F.C. Illustrated by Howard Leigh and Alfred Sindall. Pp. 256, coloured frontispiece, glossary of R.F.C. terms and expressions used; cr. 8vo; pictorial blue cloth, lettered and decorated in black, lightly soiled and rubbed; top edges blue (faded); lacking the dust wrapper; bookseller's sticker at foot of upper pastedown, inked gift inscription (dated 1938) on upper free endpaper, upper hinge cracking, scattered light foxing and occasional slight soiling; Oxford University Press/ Humphrey Milford, London, 1933[1937?]. Blue Pyramid reprint. *First published in 1935. The so-called Pyramid editions (featuring a design of a plane flying over palm trees and pyramids on the upper board) were printed using the plates of the first editions, and retained the original date of publication.
