The volume is profusely illustrated throughout by the artist Charles Robinson. A charming work of children's fiction, including numerous fables and profusely illustrated throughout. Edited by Walter Jerrold, an English writer biographer and newspaper editor. Illustrated by the a prolific British illustrator, Charles Robinson. This work comprises of many classic fables including 'A Fox and a Leopard', 'A Frog and a Mouse', 'The Use of Knowledge' and 'A Hen and Golden Eggs'. In original red cloth binding. Externally, sound with slight rubbing to the head and tail of spine. Loss at head and tail of spine due to rubbing. Bumping to the extremities. Spine has faded. Tide mark to front board due to spillage and marks to rear board. Front hinge is weak, resulting in first few gatherings to loosen. Rear hinge is also quite tender. Internally, binding is weak. Pages are generally bright with instances of scattered spots throughout. Good
