About This Item
Paris: Chez Duchesne, 1753. First edition (enlarged editions were published in 1755 and 1757). 12mo. (12), 343, (1), 48 ("Le Commentateur amusant"), 20 ("Justes plaints") pp. OCLC seems to locate but one copy in the United States (Harvard), through 11 records; none of the records seem to describe the two caption-titled additions at the rear. Contemporary mottled calf (joints cracked, rubbed), spine richly gilt with ornaments and rules, leather spine label, marbled endpapers, all edges red. Still a good solid copy.
