London: Printed by S.H. for R. Wilkin, 1707. Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. 20cm x 13cm. 8vo. Original full leather rebacked in leather with raised bands, label, attractive. Vol.1, but a second volume was never published. [68], 412pp Library plate to inside paste-down. Very good. Bray was well-known for establishing parish libraries in both UK and the colonies. His proposals are elaborated in this book and his activities sustained through the SPCK. The importance of this book should not be under-estimated in the history of the library (see Godly Reading by Cambers (pp 144-145)
