Bernard Hartmut Breslauer (1918-2004) was a German-born rare book dealer and book collector, who later lived in England and the United States. In 1992 the Pierpont Morgan Library held an exhibition of books and illuminated manuscripts from his collection. He endowed a professorship of bibliography at the University of California, and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers established a bibliography prize in his name. He also was the head of the Martin Breslauer, Inc. firm of antiquarian bookselling, named for his father, who was a noted bibliographer in Germany. "The Uses of Bookbinding Literature" is a lecture Breslauer delivered at Columbia University in 1984 and was printed in 1986 with a print run of 1000 copies and includes a lengthy list of books referenced in the text.
