London: Sampson Low, Marston & Company, 1898. A LARGE-PAPER COPY OF THE FIRST EDITION. Along with Cohen, one of the two standard bibliographies of 18th century illustrated books. Over 5,000 items described in detail. 35 full-page facsimile plates. From a total edition of 1100 copies, this is ONE OF 100 LARGE-PAPER COPIES PRINTED ON FINE WOVE PAPER (the rest of the edition was printed on cheap, acidic paper, and in a smaller format). Large thick 4to. Bound in cloth. A bit of wear and sunning to cloth, but still attractive and structurally solid. Internally fine and bright. Overall very good.
