Else, very good. 12mo. 307pp. A moving and richly humorous story of a prostitute's life in the Chicago of yesteryear. Originally printed by the Obelisk Press in 1936 and subsequently suppressed in London. This edition "Published by Societe Nouvelle des Editions du Chene. 1er trimestre 1953." Before the fame of the Olympia Press, Editions du Chene was Maurice Girodias' first publishing venture - inheriting many of the Obelisk Press titles from his father, publisher Jack Kahane.
