Basis for the 1946 film noir, "Temptation," starring Merle Oberon and George Brent.
Both volumes Very Good plus in original red cloth with gilt titles and design. Contemporary gift inscription on the front endpaper of each volume (both inscribed to and from the same person, Christmas 1909). Corners lightly bumped, light soil, moderate uniform fading to the spine panel of both volumes. Overall a very presentable set.
The Dark Page I: 1940-1949, p. 148.
