About This Item
London: Heinemann, 1963. Book. Near Fine. Hardcover. 1st Edition. Scarce 1963 second printing. Black cloth-affect boards with bright gilt lettering to the spine. In the original first edition dust jacket with '18s NET' on front flap. Wrapper design by Thomas Simmonds. The binding is square and tight with sharp corners. Top edge with foxing spots as is often the case, fore edge with a few spots. Pages are bright and clean with no marks or inscriptions. The dust jacket is bright with vivid colors, lightest wear and one small, closed tear to front cover. This is the 1963 reprint of the first edition with ' First published 1963' and 'Reprinted 1963' on the copyright page. Book, contents and dust jacket are exactly the same as the first edition with all first edition points. Probably only 'reprinted' for marketing reasons, the first edition of an estimated 2000 copies did not sell very well. 258 pp. 19 x 13 cm. A very attractive collectible copy. .
