New York: Harcourt, Brace & Co, 1951. Both a talented novelist and an important theologian, the author of both "As a Driven Leaf" and "Basic Judaism," Steinberg died too young. This title was published posthumously in the year after his death. This is a Very Good copy of the First Edition. Blue cloth binding with gilt lettering. Clean and fresh text; 317 pages. Very minor shelfwear,a previous owner bookplate , and an inscription in Hebrew on the FFEP. The dustjacket is clipped; has some wrinkles and chips at the head and foot of the spine. The spine has faded from blue to gray, but still bright. In an archival plastic protector. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good.
