A stated First Printing but of a variant edition, published by and printed in Japan (as is evident on the copyright page, and translated from the original Hebrew, with photograph copyright by Philipe Halsman and book jacket design by Paul Bacon. Bound simply in brown cloth, with gilt lettering to spine. Bright and shiny dust jacket, illustrated, showing only very minor wear, protected by a plastic coat, dust jacket not being price-clipped. Nick to bottom of front paste-down. Neither publisher nor place of publication are stated. 211 pp.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes, and for sets.
Synopsis
Elie Wiesel is the author of more than fifty books, both fiction and nonfiction. He is a recipient of the United States Congressional Gold Medal, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the French Legion of Honor’s Grand-Croix, an honorary knighthood of the British Empire and, in 1986, the Nobel Peace Prize. Since 1976, he has been the Andrew W. Mellon Professor in the Humanities at Boston University.
