A pictorial presentation of the fire apparatus used from 1886 to 1974 and contains many excellent and previously unpublished photos of Seagrave, American-LaFrance, Amoskeag and Waterous, all world-famous manufacturers of fine equipment, as well as several little-known makes. Never before has a Canadian fire department been documented in this way. A must for those interested in the evolution of firefighting equipment. Contains over 200 black and white photographs. Gilt Vancouver Fire Department logo upon brown cloth front board. Average wear to unmarked book. Binding intact. Above-average wear to dust jacket which is now preserved in archival-grade Brodart.
