The first edition of the first series of this guidebook for Beetles in Britain with colour plates and in the original dust wrapper. First edition of Beetles of the British Isles by E. F. Linssen in the original publisher's binding and unclipped dust wrapper.Complete in two volumes, this is Volume I.Comprising of the superfamilies caraboidea, palpicornia, staphylinoidea and diversicornia. With nineteen colour plates, twenty monochrome plates and text figures and diagrams throughout the text. Collated, complete.Includes four pages of blank notes pages to the rear. Insert included of a page from Entomologist's Record Volume 72 with a review of the book from 1960. In the original publisher's cloth binding and unclipped dust wrapper. The dust wrapper has some slight wear to the extremities. There is some minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. The front hinge is slightly strained. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are very bright and clean. Near Fine
