Oliphants Ltd, London & Edinburgh, 1955. First Edition. Hardcover. Good Condition/Good. Colour illustrated frontispiece. White coloured boards with blue coloured titles to the back strip. Colour illustrated dustwrapper, same illustration as for frontispiece, with dark red and black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Beechy would have found the first term at school very pleasant except for the trouble that Olive was causing. "Beechy had become a Christian before starting school but had told nobody. She had to learn the hard way that only when we pray to Him and have the courage to confess to Him, does Jesus give us the strength we need to meet life's difficulties."  from the front fold over panel blurb. Softening and a little chipping of the pack strip edges; with rubbing of the top book corners and lower book edges. There is a small erosion mark to the top edge of the front panel stop panel show rubs and marks with tanning of the text block edges and pages. Prize plate fixed to the free front end page. Chipping of the dustwrapper corners and back strip edges. There is a piece missing from the top left-hand corner of the front panel, measuring 1" by 1". Heavy rubbing to all of the dustwrapper creases. Some closed tears and creasing to the dustwrapper edges. Tape residue can be seen to the top edge of the front panel  where a previous owner has supported a tear. Dustwrapper now protected. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [6], 7 - 96 pages..
