Hastings House, 1964. Cloth. Fine/Very Good. Slightly smaller book, fine brown cloth, embossed logo for "American Procession series" on front, bright gilt lettering on spine, map of beaver harvest inside covers and adajcent end papers, 335 pages. Signed by author on half-title page: "For the patrons of the Arents Rare Book Room, Syracuse University Library. Mari Sandoz." Next to her signature is an ink drawing of a desert scene. Includes typed sheet from her manuscript with corrections, and an invitation to a signing in New York City. DJ glossy yellow beneath mylar with antique illustration of American Indians carrying furs to whites by water on front in red frame, list of Sandoz books with praise on white back, very lightly browned. DJ has two very tiny thin tears at bottom back edge with tiny crease. Very Good DJ/Very Fine book.
