Toronto: McClelland and Stewart, 1966. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. 8vo. Black cloth with blind stamped image to the front board and gilt spine. Spine ends lightly rubbed and bumped, with very light sporadic foxing to the fore-edges. The dust jacket is wonderful, very light wear, the edges with some very light nicks and some super light creases. A jacket that is almost always found rather worn and chipped. This copy was read by the previous owner and kept separate from the dust jacket. The jacket was rolled up and tucked away for safe keeping. A really nice copy of the First Canadian Edition.
Synopsis
Beautiful Losers is a novel by Leonard Cohen. Published in 1966 by McClelland and Stewart, it was the Canadian novelist-poet's second novel, and precedes his career as a singer-songwriter. It is noted as being perhaps Cohen's most defiant and uninhibited work, and is also one of the best-known experimental novels to be published during the 1960s.
