Blue cloth boards with faded gilt lettering to spine and blind embossed publisher's colophon to front, top edge black. Nice tight copy. DJ in protective cover. ; B&W Illustrations; 410 pages; Biography of one of the most beautiful and accomplished princesses of the Italian Renaissance, as well as a very good study of late 15th century court life in Milan. Before her tragic early death in childbirth Beatrice had made her mark on Milan through her patronage of learned men, poets and artists, such as Niccolò da Correggio, Bernardo Castiglione, Donato Bramante, and Leonardo da Vinci. .
