New York: Random House. 1955. First edition, first printing. First edition, first printing. Publisher's original blue paper covered boards and black cloth spine with titles in orange and black, in dustwrapper. Top edge yellow. An excellent near fine copy, the binding square and firm with light bumping at the spine tips. The contents are clean throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. Complete with the lightly rubbed dustwrapper that is heavily faded to the orange lettering on the spine and a little spotted to the flaps, but is otherwise without loss or tears. Not price-clipped ($3.50 to the upper front flap). Winner of the 1956 Mystery Writers of America Edgar Award for Best Novel. Synopsis
Beast in View is a suspense novel and psychological thriller by Margaret Millar which won the Edgar Award in 1956, was adapted for an episode of the television series Alfred Hitchcock Presents in 1964, and was included on a list of the The Top 100 Mystery Novels of All Time issued in 1995 by the Mystery Writers of America.
