Batsford,, [1961]. 8vo., First Edition, with 54 plates on 30; handsomely bound in full navy crushed morocco, sides with gilt frame border, back with raised bands, second and fourth compartments lettered and ruled in gilt, all other compartments tooled in gilt with anchor motif, gilt top, hand-made endpapers, ribbon marker, in custom-made-slip-case, dustwrapper panels mounted on new and separate leaves at front, an elegant copy ideal as a gift or for presentation. A PRESENTATION COPY FROM THE AUTHOR WITH HIS SIGNED HOLOGRAPH INSCRIPTION ON FRONT FREE ENDPAPER. Published in Batsford's notable 'British Battles' series, with striking wrap-around dustwrapper artwork by Norman Wilkinson. One of the best general histories. SCARCE IN THIS CONDITION.
