Issued in in original pale blue-gray wraps with yapped edges printed in red. Wrappers are worn with some shelf-wear present to the extremities (small chip present to the rear wrapper, small dampstain present). The book is free of ownership marks. The text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. Author's First Full-length Play. Later revised as Orpheus Descending and published by New Directions in 1958. Orpheus Descending is a play by Tennessee Williams. It was first presented on Broadway in 1957 where it enjoyed a brief run (68 performances) with only modest success. It was revived on Broadway in 1989, directed by Peter Hall and starring Vanessa Redgrave and Kevin Anderson. The production ran for 13 previews and 97 performances. E-063; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 122 pages .
