New York: Little, Brown and Company, 1959. First edition, as stated. Hardcover. Good/good. 424 pages. A young nobleman fights for his name, his love and his fate in 16th century Genoa. Blue cloth binding with gilt titles on spine. Cover spotted, a little edge wear with fading along edges, gilt still bright, minor bumping of corners and spine ends, former owner's name "Frances Robinson" on front free end paper, interior pages tanned, binding tight. Illustrated dust jacket with yellow and white titles on front cover and spine is worn along edges, lightly creased, scrubbed on back jacket, small chips and holes along edges, not price clipped.
