An undated early American reprint, dated from Jisc from a copy held at the University of Oxford Libraries.In the original unclipped dust wrapper. An intriguing novel by the author of the popular Fu-Manchu novels, in which an ancient Egyptian secret is uncovered, which bares a strange resembliance to nuclear power. By Sax Rohmer, the pen-name of Arthur Henry Ward, who is best known for his series of novels which feature the master criminal Fu Manchu, who first appeared in the 1911 novel 'The Mystery of Dr. Fu-Manchu'.Prior owner's gift inscription to the recto of the front endpaper, dated 1936. In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, generally smart, with light marks to the boards and spine, and a faded damp stain to the rear board. Minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Scattered spots to the fore edge. Prior owner's gift inscription to the recto of the front endpaper, dated 1936. Edge wear to the dust wrapper, with chips and closed tear, larger chips to the head and tail of the spine. A little rubbing to the folds of the dust wrapper. Tide mark to the rear wrap, heavier to the reverse, where the tide mark has resulted in discolouration. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good
