4th ANNUAL and the last of the bi-annual issues before its yearly publication in the following years.
An uncommonly high grade example of an uncommon publisher's 4th annual, with first cartoon strip 'Paper Caper'. Visually the exterior appearance is spectacular for a book of it's age and nature, i.e a child's book, and even internally, the book is virtually pristine and in an exceptional condition/state of preservation and presentation.
The Bash Street Kids are a group of nine characters in Bash Street School, and are the main protagonists of the comic strip, from The BEANO comic. The strip, created by the legendary Leo Baxendale as 'When the Bell Rings',first appeared in issue No.604 (dated February,1954).It became The Bash Street Kids in 1956 and has become a regular feature, appearing in every issue.Originally and previously known as THE BASH STREET KIDS BOOK' it commenced in 1980,and ran bi-annually for the first 4 issues, and then resumed publication every year from 1989 - no annual in 1988 - ceasing in 2010 with 26 annuals in total.
