New York: Kallemeyn Press, 1989. A very limited edition, one of twenty copies bound in leather. Near fine. 39pp. Quarto [31.5 cm] Light gray leather spine and boards. Top edge trimmed; other edges deckled. Housed in a portfolio with black paper and a parchment vellum spine. With 4 modern abstract color prints (lacking the tissue guards). One of twenty deluxe copies bound in leather by Christian Zwang of Hamburg. An additional 50 copies were printed, not bound in leather.

Synopsis

Bartleby, the Scrivener: a Story of Wall Street is a long short story, or novella, by the American novelist Herman Melville (1819–1891). It first appeared anonymously in two parts in the November and December 1853 editions of Putnam's Magazine. It was reprinted with minor textual alterations in his The Piazza Tales in 1856.
