About This Item
London: William Heinemann, 2005. First Edition . Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. This is a set of two items: a signed, first printing of "Band of Brothers," with a signed copy of the "Bothlio Newsletter," Issue XXII, both in 'as new' condition. The interior of the book is crisp and clean, showing no wear or signs of use. There is a gift inscription from the author on the title page (Alexander Kent, 21st Oct '05, Trafalgar Day), but no other marks. The black covers are fresh, with no wear. The gilt spine lettering is still shiny. The dust jacket is not price-clipped, and is also in excellent condition, with no wear or use. The jacket is now in a protective mylar cover. The 8 page Newsletter is also signed and dated on the cover page. It contains a short (1 page) article "I remember Nelson" by Reeman, a short summary of the plot of "Band of Brothers," a short notice on "Sea Warriors," a film documentary which includes inteviews with Reeman, an advertisement for a figurine of Bothlio, a chronology of Bothlio's life, and bibliographies of novels written by Douglas Reeman under his own name, and as Alexander Kent. Together the two would make a nice Christmas gift for the Kent/Reeman collector who thinks he has everything.
Synopsis
