Baltic Episode: A classic of Secret Service in Russian Waters by Captain Augustus Agar (Hodder and Stoughton, 1st edition 1963).
A story of clandestine British operations during the Russian Civil War written firsthand by the man who was there, Augustus Agar (1890-1968).
Later reprinted by the Naval Institute Press (1983), this copy a first edition with lovely dustwrapper art by Douglas Hall.
Hardback in dustwrapper. 255pp including two maps, plus b/w plates and map endpapers. Size: 8.25 x 5.75 inches approx. (209mm x 140mm).
Dustwrapper lightly rubbed and worn to extremities; some dustiness to rear panel. Boards a little knocked to corners and bottom edge, spine ends slightly turned in, but otherwise clean and bright. Light age-toning to pages and occasional dustiness but generally clean throughout.
Overall, a particularly nice, clean and well preserved copy.
