Contents clean, previous owners name to front flyleaf, jacket gently toned to spine with some edgewear. A very good copy indeed. 'The Ballad of the Sad Cafè' is a story of unrequited love. Miss Amelia, the owner of a store, spends all her time thinking about her cousin Lymon. He is responsible for changing her store into a cafè. As the book progresses McCullers explores the pain and suffering of a love triangle. The other short stories in this collection are some of McCullers most praised work.
