About This Item
Shreveport, LA: Huntington House, Inc, 1983. Paperback. Fair. Octavo, 115 pages. Third printing, 1984. Wear to covers and edges, including a crease on the front cover. Heavily tanned edges and pages. Writing inside the front cover; no writing or marks observed. Here's a fun one! As we all know, Rock and Roll is the devil's music. Of course it is. According to the back of this book, "Rock music is laced with lyrics exhalting [sic] drugs, the occult, immorality, homosexuality, violence and rebellion." 'Nuff said! Written in 1983, Backward Masking Unmasked "exposes" various popular bands and performers who hid satanic and evil messages in their music, either hiding them by backwards recording (backward masking), or by other means. And the author doesn't just call out the obvious choices - The Bee Gees, The Captain and Tennille, John Denver, Elton John, and Bette Midler are also guilty of this sacrilege. The introduction was written by Louisiana Senator Bill Keith who writes, "The sinister nature of rock and roll is one of the burning issues of our time. Many of us remember the 1950s when this nerve-jangling sound swept across our country and around the world." Fun to read today, you will find yourself blurting out "Wow! Who Knew??" An early book by long-time minister Jacob Aranza, this was followed two years later with a sequel. It's good for a helluva laugh!
