Cincinnati: Jones Brothers & Company, 1883 608pp. Tips and spine ends are bumped and heavily rubbed. Edges of both boards exhibit some shelf-wear. Spine is sunned and has air bubbles under the surface. Spine edges are fraying. Spine edges are rubbed. Edges of text block are heavily dust-stained. Spine and both boards have light scratches and scuffs. Rear board has some light soiling. Front hinge is open. Front endpapers and first few pages have small tears at spine heel. Inside of front board has small tears, damp staining, light foxing, and light soiling. Inside of front board has an ink bleed from former owner stamp on front endpaper. Front endpaper has a 1" diagonal tear at foredge and is missing a piece at top tip. Both front endpapers have former owner stamp. Frontis piece, title page, and copyright page are foxed, have soiling, and have many stains. Signature is open at copyright page. There are small tears at copyrigh page at preface page at threaded binding. Pages are toning, foxed, and have many small stains. Many pages have tiny tears and pinholes where threaded binding is holding the pages together. Rear hinge is open. Last page has former owner stamp near lower edge of text block. Inside of rear board is missing pieces at hinge. Last couple of pages are chipping and missing pieces at all edges. Some pages have light creases at lower tip. Spine is shaken and cocked. May have other flaws. Text is unmarked. . Hardcover. Poor/No Dust Jacket.
