About This Item

Inscribed by Dickey to Roslyn and William 'Bill' Targ, the famous New York literary couple, on the half-title. 1968, First Edition. Hardcover. A Near Fine, tight, clean copy in a Very Good dust jacket with modest edgewear; light fading to the spine; faint paperclip indent to front panel. Roslyn Targ was a literary agent for the likes of Samuel Beckett, Italo Calvino and Chester Himes. Her husband, Bill Targ, was an editor at World and then Putnam's, as well as a major bibliophile.
