Babbitt (1922), by Sinclair Lewis, is a satirical novel about American culture and society that critiques the vacuity of middle class life and the social pressure toward conformity. Part of the publisher's series of facsimiles of modern literature, in exact replicas of their 1st edition state, complete with dust jackets, and any first edition points that existed. Laid in is the FEL (First Edition Library) single sheet notes, which outline the the conditions of the writing of the novel, the issue points, and the reception of the novel at time of publication. All dust jackets are true facsimiles, except for "FEL" on the rear inside flap.
