Bound in green boards with beveled edges and front cover illustrations and lettering in gilt--gilt spine lettering. All edges gilt. Illustrated throughout by the author. An early printing the date can be determined from the fact that the publisher ads at the rear include 'Every Boy's Annual for 1873'. Covers rubbed; light wear through at three tips; spine top/bottom with moderate wear; both hinges cracked (The rear severely).
