Iranian comic and author published this collection in book form during the Gulf War, but had previously published them in his British-based journal, "Asghar Agha". Born in 1943 in provincial Fariman province in Iran, he had been working for the Iran Tourist Organisation (1976) and was sent to England to study the language, while he continued his satirical column in Iran. Returning to Iran at the time of the Revolution, the Hezbollah was not laughing and he exiled himself to London in April 1979, two days after the Islamic Republic was declared. This is his first collection in English. Enclosed is a half-sheet paper from the publishers promoting this book. The publisher is not-for-profit. Khorsandi's satire made the prior Shah as uncomfortable as the post-revolutionary powers. His humorous essays and parodies take aim at the mullah's pronouncements, sermons, war strategies, interviews with a servile press, Irangate, the veil, and the Gulf War.
