May I ask you to correct with a pen in the copy which you will send to Mr Robinson one slight error in the record of what I said, which is of no consequence at all for English readers, but will be taken notice of in the colony – at the bottom of p. 432 second column it stands 'Mr. Robinson had fully recognised the desire of the native community to avail themselves etc?' It should be 'Mr. Robinson had fully recognised the desire of the Europeans to bring the native community etc.'. Otherwise, the report is accurate, excellent...", 2 sides 8vo., 23 Sussex Place, Kensington, W., 9th May Sir John ROBINSON (1839-1903) was the first Prime Minister of Natal. He became manager of his father's paper the 'Natal Mercury' in 1860. He travelled widely from 1861, staying in the United Kingdom for five months, where he studied the International Exhibition of 1862, and lectured on the colony. After a long career in politics he became the first Prime Minister in 1893.
